Small business Support program (SBSP)

The CRO has funded 27 small projects since it started its Small Business Support program in 2015, where almost USD 70,000 was used to support these projects

The CRO-Backpack Drive

In accordance with the Circassian Repatriation Organization (CRO)’s vision and objectives, the CRO launched a project aimed at supporting students and their families to cover school expenses.

The 2019 Backpack Drive

The Program team made a list of school necessities for elementary through high school students and estimated the cost of these essential items. They also put together a list of students who are qualified under this program from three different localities: Kabardino-Balkaria, Maikop, and Penakhas. The list included, 103 students from Kabardino-Balkaria, 35 students from Maykop and 40 students from Penakhas with a total of 178 students.

The 2020 Backpack Drive

The CRO has effectively managed to provide 768 students with $17,000 worth of back to school supplies as the following:

– 141 students from the Republic of Adygea (48 from Panakhas village and the rest from Maykop)

– 107 students from the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria

– 520 students from the Circassian villages in Homs and Hama

The CRO Higher Education Scholarship Program

The aim of the CRO Higher Education Scholarship Program is to support Circassian students in their educational pursuits in an engaging, thought-provoking, and memorable manner. The students who create the best essays or video responses to the questions listed below will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship to be put towards their post-secondary education.

The program aims to preserve the dignity of our people and this will be achieved only by the concerted efforts and collective action of all the members of our corporate community around the world.

 

CRO Awareness Program

The International Circassian Conference

The CRO partnered with the Circassian Nuremberg Association to organise the first & second international Circassian Conference in Nuremberg, Germany, the first conference took place on On Sep. 21-22/2018 the second conference took place on October 18-20/2019 and the third conference will take place  October 9-11/2020 in istambul, Turkey

The CRO Awards Program is intended to honour Circassian individuals or groups who made significant contributions investing their energy and resources, inspiring others and going above and beyond to support the Circassian people, community, language or culture.

  • The CRO has funded six small projects in 2019, which they are:

    – Two projects for mini markets
    – Kitchen and furniture workshop
    – Project for breeding dairy cows
    – Two projects for taxi cars.

  • The organization established its relief program

    The organization has established a team to follow up on relief cases that are received by the organization, whether they are urgent medical cases, the costs of operating surgeries, or other relief matters.

  • The CRO Backpack Drive 2019 Campaign

  • The CRO participated in the national conference  ‘Promoting International Dialogue and Protecting Cultural Heritage in the Caucasus’ in December 5-6 at RUCARR, Malmö University.  more

  • we have achieved  that CRO-US is now exempt from federal income tax under internal revenue code “IRC” section 501(c)(3). Donors can deduct contributions they make to us under IRC section 170. We are also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under sections 2055, 2106 or 2522. Organizations exempt under “IRC” section 501(c)(3) are further classified as either public charities or private foundations. More

  • The CRO Lifetime Achievment Award was presented to Dr. Ehsan Saleh Stash in recognition of his continuous support and contributions to the Circassian community for several decades. it was in Damme, Germany in annual Circassian gathering March 31, 2018  more

In 2017

·         The CRO has financed five small businesses through its program (CRO-SBSP 2017).

  • Three Greenhouse projects for planting vegetables 
  • Project for breeding dairy cows 
  • An Industrial tiles project.

·       The CRO delivered the fast-breaking charity(Alfitr Charity) to a number of families in need in Syria

·         The CRO has paid the ticket fees for a student travelling to Adyghea Republic who was accepted to study at Adyghea University.

·         The CRO participated in the national conference held by the Caucasus Studies Center at Malmö University between 23 and 24 of November.

·         The CRO participated in the opening of the Circassian Cultural Center (adigabza winah) in Kounya, Turkey

·         The CRO is officially registered as a member in the United Nation Civil Society (See the website)

·         The CRO had officially established abranch in the US.

·         The CRO applied for membership in the European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE), and accepted as an international partner

·         Attended ameeting with the German Circassians in Cologne in April of 2017.

·        The CRO participated in the annual meeting of the Circassian Community in USA which was held on the 9th  Sep. 2017. A competition for the best circassian     loaf cheese was organized and was awarded a prize for the best loaf cheese. more

·         The CRO has covered the cost of residence applying for six returnees to the Adygea Republic

      in 2016

·     In 2016, the Organization supported 7 small grant businesses  as part of its program to support small business projects (2016 CRO-SBSP) in the Circassians republics, which are:

1. Sewing atelier in Nalchik .
2. Circassian clothes sewing atelier in Nalchik.
3. Oriental foods restaurant in Nalchik.
4. Greenhouse project for planting vegetables.
5. Greenhouse project for planting vegetables in Nalchik.
6 . Project for breeding dairy cows in Maykop.
7. Greenhouse project for planting vegetables in Maykop.

·         the Organization is still responsible for the living costs of a family of a widow and her three orphaned children every month and till now.

Since the founding until 2015
